Personal
I have been incredibly fortunate throughout my life to have explored the world, met fascinating people, and had the pleasure of seeing things my eyes will never be able to translate into words. Through it all, I have always kept a sense of curiosity.
At my core, I am just a passionate geek who loves to learn. Every project is an opportunity to figure out how something works under the hood.
When I am away from the terminal, that curiosity usually takes a few forms:
- Digital Sovereignty: Constantly learning the nuances of self-hosting, running federated services (Matrix, GoToSocial, snac2), and managing bare-metal arrays.
- Hardware Hacking: Tinkering with component-level modifications, firmware rooting, and off-grid communications via LoRa/Meshtastic mesh networks.
- Data-Driven Athletics: Treating running training as a data-science problem by analysing raw bio-telemetry.
- Land Operations: Getting my hands dirty with agricultural logistics and forest management.
Work
For a full breakdown of my professional background and technical timeline, you can view my Curriculum Vitae.
Any success I have had in my career belongs entirely to the exceptional, high-performing teams I’ve been lucky enough to lead. My role has simply been to clear the runway for brilliant engineers, builders, and specialists to design and deliver multi-faceted solutions. Together, we have tackled complex integration projects, unique R&D, and quick-reaction capabilities for clients globally.
My journey has spanned both military and corporate solutions across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. After serving in the United States Air Force, I had the privilege of working alongside phenomenal minds in roles ranging from Co-founder to Chief Engineer at companies like Boeing. More recently, I have served as a CTO in the energy space, where I was fortunate to support teams scaling distributed energy resource (DER) platforms and grid optimisation infrastructure from zero to exit.
Across three continents, these teams have delivered high-quality, resilient technology solutions in diverse sectors including aviation, energy, manufacturing, and cybersecurity.
While I am proud of my ability to lead and develop companies, my favourite place will always be in the trenches with the engineering team. I’m happiest when I can “roll my sleeves up” and help the team implement the complex, hardened, and one-of-a-kind architectures we design—whether that means untangling grid infrastructure or deploying secure environments.
