About Me

I wanted to do this once and for all. I am going to fill in these stupid boxes with something pertinent to describing the dude that is Nick. Cresting a quarter of my life and have shed away the following things:

- Kool-Aid
- Hip leanings of anything
- Self delusion of normal
- Understanding MTV
- Debating which way the toilet paper should go on the wall (for the record paper TOWARDS you)
- Thinking dog is man’s best friend. Dog is mans only true friend. Oscar is the only friend who puts up with me
- Thinking there is a silver bullet for anything, at best there is big rock you can throw at something

More importantly I have shed away the notion of happiness and fairy tales. I am looking for something tangible, real, devoid of the usualness of our common thoughts on relationships. I gave up my Ninja Turtles PJ’s and likewise I think its time to give-up being a kid in the matters of heart.

Me – just a geeky dude with a heart of warm flannel. God wired my brain for 1’s and 0’s and my soul for care and feeding. My diet consists of anything cool I find on yelp and my music a time warner classics collection clearing house. If you don’t find anything on my iPod you like then you are most likely a robot.

For fun its a nice run with “Papa was a rolling stone” blaring in my ears or a walk to NPR podcast and techie talk shows with the dog. When the weather isn’t freezing the motorcycle provides a playground for relief and the jeep for prancing around in the mud.

What do I do for a living? Well funny you should ask! I work for a defense contractor doing Computer stuff. If you are a geek and want to know more about computer stuff, great! 99% of the world would glaze over and mutter “nerd.” It has always been my passion and love. My office is filled with computers and protocol posters. I think God was a programmer. I think it is my balance, going from something so unattainable as understanding God and something as serial and analytical as computers. I travel a lot for work. Criss-crossing all over America working programs and projects. Gives me such a wonderful opportunity to see and meet many different people. I work with a great bunch of people that make it a family oriented environment.

Pop culture tastes are varied. I can’t even begin to describe my iTunes library. You name it, it is in there. I don’t watch a lot of TV but will admit to watching The Office, History Channel, and Law and Order on repeat. Guess the biggest thing is it much challenge my mind to grow and approach something differently.

Secure in work and my skin. Not your average young man living in a boys world. Just as comfy to be dancing in the rain with beauty as lounging in PJ pants on the couch. I give my all and expect only that in return. Deep down I think I will always be the little kid looking up at the stars and deep down I know I am 60 years old in my heart. I love my life and am blessed to be given more than I deserve.
